ABOUT ME
Hello and welcome, I’m Kot, a registered therapeutic counsellor (RTC) and life coach.
Transform Fear Into Freedom: Trauma-Informed Healing for CPTSD Recovery
What happens when fear becomes the lens through which you view life? When past trauma creates patterns that keep you disconnected from yourself and others? When you’re caught in cycles of emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or self-criticism?
I understand these challenges intimately. My personal recovery from Complex PTSD (CPTSD) following childhood experiences with a narcissistic parent taught me that healing is possible—even when the path seems unclear.
As a trauma-informed therapist specializing in CPTSD, attachment trauma, and emotional regulation, I combine personal insight with professional expertise to guide clients through their healing journey.
My approach integrates:
- Trauma-informed therapeutic techniques that address both mind and body
- Practical tools for navigating difficult emotions and relationships
- Evidence-based methods for healing attachment wounds
- Compassionate guidance for reconnecting with your authentic self
The effects of trauma don’t have to be ignored, together we can find the tools and strength for you to manage it better, and grow to to weather the storms. Through our work together, you’ll develop the skills to recognize patterns, regulate emotions, and rebuild your relationship with yourself and others.
Many clients find that with the right support, what once felt like obstacles in life transform into opportunities for profound growth and self-discovery.

Common Questions About Therapy, Counselling and Life Coaching
As a registered trauma-informed therapist , and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor in Vancouver, I specialize in Complex PTSD and trauma recovery. Clients often wonder what trauma therapy involves and how evidence-based approaches address their unique needs.
1. Common Signs of Trauma
As a registered trauma counsellor, I frequently observe these signs in clients:
Emotional responses: Anxiety, numbness, being easily startled, or experiencing emotions that feel too intense or disconnected from current situations.
Physical manifestations: Sleep problems, tension, unexplained pain, and feeling disconnected from your body – all signs of a nervous system that needs help healing.
Thought patterns: Intrusive memories, difficulty concentrating, persistent negative beliefs about yourself or others, and feeling that the world is unsafe.
Behavioural changes: Avoiding reminders of painful events, withdrawing from activities once enjoyed, or using substances/behaviors to manage overwhelming feelings.
Relationship difficulties: Struggling with trust, boundaries, or connection – often alternating between seeking intense closeness and pushing others away.
These responses are natural protective mechanisms following difficult experiences. Effective trauma therapy helps you understand these patterns and develop new ways to feel safe in your body and the world.
2. What is your approach to counselling and therapy?
I take a trauma-informed, client-centred approach that integrates several evidence-based methods, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic techniques, and cognitive-behavioural strategies.
